Objectives


The Aim of the conference/workshop 
  1. To evolve a portable model of taking skills training to the widest cross section of the society, in a cost effective and replicable way, outside the formal school system.
  2. Create a structure/framework to effectively carry forth the above effort and to maintain and continue to improve on the model. 
  3. This structure would also help create a network, potentially of National scope over time, whose exclusive purpose would be to be mutually supportive and serve as a resource to all those interested in this area of service.
  4. To generate ideas that can be transformed into reality.  
Objectives:
The objectives of the workshop are to
  1. To help open doors of opportunity to unemployed youth, landless laborers, widows, single/abandoned mothers and others who are similarly marginalized, and are appropriately motivated to improve their lot.
  2. Get insight into the employment opportunities vis-a-vis the changing economy
  3. To understand the efforts and reach of various government initiatives
  4. Generate a pool of NGOs working in this sector in India by evolving a supportive network and pooling of experience and expertise of dedicated workers and thought leaders.
  5. Get the industry perspective in terms of identifying the training needs and employment opportunities and viability.
